Thanks. However the engine noise and Turbocharger error occured before N82 was replaced. I am worried about the faulty wastegate issue which seems to be the common problem in these turbochargers. Will probably have a specialist look at it this spring time.Have you checked if turbo to IC piping? It is mounted properly? Because to change N82 you need to disconnect this piping, so maybe you have some boost leak there? Hence P00AF
Not sure if the N82 valve applies to 1.4 engines without looking up a workshop manual - it is present on the 2.0 and 1.8s. Pulling the heater matrix is awkward and fiddly, but overall not too bad on these cars - no need for dash removal. With yours being a UK car, it will be located on the drivers side as opposed to the passenger side (where mine is shown on post 5 of this thread: https://www.golfmk7.com/forums/inde...stimate-for-2015-gsw-tdi.412095/#post-7909331)Interesting thread. Our 2013 1.4 TSi is slow to heat, and needs rpms to push a little more heat to the cabin too. I am currently 50/50 on it being a blocked heater matrix (at 80,000 miles) or possibly an issue with the aux coolant pump because I haven't been able to detect it operating. I would expect it to run all the time the ignition is on, right?
On the 1.4 the only water pumps I can find are the main one powered by the crank and the small electric one down the front of the block under the inlet manifold. I can't detect any noise or vibration from it with the ignition on, or the engine running. I think that's probably wrong... I have no error codes for it though, and I can't see any failed fuses (though I've not been able to work out which fuse it might be on yet.)
I have confirmed that the supply and return pipes to the heater matrix do get warm reasonably quickly too, but there's very little heat coming out in the cabin.
How hard is it to change the heater matrix on these? On my old Corrado was more or less a dashboard out job .. ! Where is the "N82" valve that's mentioned in this thread?

Yeah I couldn't see anything looking quite like the N82 from the pics on the side of our engine so maybe it's not that.
