My Car history is quite small,

2008 Ford KA - Amythest (spelling) - uncomfortable and thirsty but proper old school handling, immense fun for what t was.

2007 Volvo C30 - Silver - I loved this car so much, shame about the handling, never been in any car so comfortable.

1991 VW Vanagon Carat - Orly Blue with Silver Areo Pack - American Spec T3/T25 - Amazing vehicle (when not braking down)

2012 VW Volkswagen California Beach - I was a big part of the VW California community and wrote articles for VW Mags.

2014 VW Golf GTD ------ on order

My love is with all things VW multivan, hence the Vanagon and the Beach. I could bore you to death on VW Campers but my I do love the German built Multivan which we technically no longer get in the UK, although they sort of exist as Caravelles.

Came from a mk6 gti to an mk7 GTI.

The MK6 felt more fun, smaller and more nimble than this current gen. I would throw that thing into corners with no worries. This and the LED taillights are what I miss from my last car. (Fellow mk6ers, I know you miss them too.)
I had APR stage 1, with a VWR racing intake and the induction noises were awesome and made driving enjoyable everyday!

The MK7, much more mature, the new MQB platform makes the car feel more planted. The interior is very Audi-like. Huge plus for me. The exterior appearance grows on me more everyday.

Have come from BMW 3 series to the Golf. (4 weeks and counting)

Love the fact the car is smaller, and enjoying the shorter wheelbase in comparison, but not the refinement on longer motorway journeys. Only gripe is the Dynaudio upgrade which cannot match the Harman Kardon setup in the BMW.

Waiting on delivery of my wife's GTI. She's trading in a 2003 Toyota Echo, which may make her the winner of the trading up award. Though the longer we wait for the new car the more she talks about not replacing the Echo as there is nothing wrong with it and it has been a zero issue car.
