New GTI => bad engine

Great news, Jeff.
I will now continue shopping for a new GTI. (Seriously, if they screwed you over with the rebuilt engine deal I think I was going to write-off VW).

What a drag dude. I'm in CA too and my 2017 GTI Sport man tran has been great! Approaching 38K and car will be two years old on Turkeyday.
I can't tell you how happy I have been and I ask GTI owners around me how many miles on their GTI's and they all report good things with 150K plus miles.
I would not be happy one ounce if my engine took a dump. You work hard like all of us to buy a reliable car. I hope you get a NEW engine. They can eat a bag of dicks for trying to get you into a reman engine. Good luck brother.

OP is getting a brand new 2019 GTI from VW.
