Following a second water pump + thermostat replacement in 5 years owner ship of my mk7 gti, I am experiencing issues with the engine temp.
It takes longer than expected to get up to temp and whilst driving the temperature starts to decrease. The only difference between the two replacement jobs was that the first kit that was used was genuine VW and the second time it was a OE part purchased from eBay.
I’ve changed one of the coolant temp sensors as a fault code was thrown up as well as a coolant shutoff valve which was also diagnosed faulty.
Unfortunately the issue is still present. From what I’ve read online it suggests the thermostat is stuck open? Can this happen even with a new kit being fitted? Any advice would be appreciated!
