If the upper-right portion of your touch display is not working and you decide to update the firmware, you will be stuck on the summary screen, which requires you to press the back arrow in the upper-right corner. Rebooting the unit will not fix this. But if you clear the SVM code (by reading old key, calculating and writing new one) you will be able to boot the unit into normal operation mode. Good luck!
All you need is diagnostic tool like VCDS, OBDeleven, CarScanner. Anything that can read and write adaptation channels in VAGs.
New value will not be stored in the adaptation channel and application will hang. That's normal.
Unit should reboot automatically, but you can do it manually if it's not happening on its own.
On some units (most likely PQ units) you can use the VOICE button to skip this screen. Try pressing it shortly or press and hold for couple seconds.

- Go to Module 5F → Adaptation → Confirmation of Installation Chan
- Copy current value of the key in this adaptation channe
- Go to I'm So XORy online calculator: http://mib-helper.com/im-so-xor
- Paste the key and generate new on
- Input new key into the adaptation channel and save it.
