Coating gives a better protection against UV, scratch and to the painting .... Etc.
on top, for overseas delivery to hk by sea, heard that manufacturer would put additionly a layer of corrosive proof material on top which I doubt that the vw hk team would put any effort of cleaning that, so I decided to find a specialist to take care of it... And I am happy to see the outcome.

Freaky speak, i still don't know whether it is right or wrong move. I been reading a lot of posts from diff forums, there are lots of experts sharing their thoughts and point of view. Polish or not on new car, wax or coat, diff. types of coat with diff hardness from H1 to H9 and some even recommending plastic dip (like wrapping with a layer of plastic). After reading them, I actually got more confused! Lol
And so, I just come back to the basic, I want a protection that would last longer time but won't kill my wallet.... In term of price: Wax<coat<plastic dip. So I picked the middle one..... Lol
I will update again say 3 mths later (or every 3 mths as I was told that this coating could last for more than 12 mths with normal weekly wash) and share again. Hope I am still a happy man by then ^^

Yes, you right. But I found some issues regarding to the costing just done 2 weeks ago. He came to visit me again early this week and said he will try to fix it for me. Will let you know the outcome later.

I'm planning to do the work myself as I don't really need the whole car mirror polished to begin with and his prices weren't cheap to do that. Mines the base Trendline model so really just want to protect the paint! If it was a higher model I might have done the full package. Hope you get it sorted ok.

I have seen how he applied it and for sure would try to DIY next time. Those microfiber cloth really worth spending as they work well with the chemical.
He done the wash, clay bar, fine polish and coating all in one day, hard to tell worth it or not but he did bring along lots of equipment and stuff. A nice guy and shared with me the steps and procedures to maintain my car later.
Afterall, most important thing is the quality of the coating.... Issue still there and he will visit me on next Monday to sort things out. Will update again!

Certainly enjoying it, still getting used to all the electronic controls - freaked out a bit when all my instrument lights went out for a while then "popped" back on just as I went into the cross harbour tunnel! Worst thing is trying to rack up the first 1000kms to run it in - not easy to do quickly in HK!!

Ordering the products now so will keep you posted as to how I get on for sure.

That's cool, they really doing a great job of putting all those settings inside the car and selling as standard package. A bit disappointed as gti don't come with rear cam no more...
I reached my 2500km already as I drive to work everyday, fabulous driving exp! It's super fun when you don't have to look at the rpm meter no more!

Do keep in touch mate as there's not much HK fellow around, looking forward to see your result.

Now trying to sell my wheels and tyres as I will upgrade in soon future ^^
