Fitted space saver due puncture and adaptive cruise control is not working.

As above, is this a safety feature of some sort, or bad luck because I got a puncture and my ACC coincidentally broke at the same time?

More than likely your space saver is setting off tpms inbalance. ACC is going to be disabled until tpms issue is rectified. Remember, these cars don't have tpms sensors, but use wheel speed and difference between them to calculate if there is a puncture. Since wheel speed is affected by change in wheel diameter, a space saver will look like a flat or malfunction reading, disabling the ACC.
