Disconnected battery, now one rear window won't auto roll down/up

Small update for everyone.

Ran a vcds scan to see if there were any fault codes...
Sure enough, I have one in the passenger door module. It lost its configuration somehow.

I'll try to get more details on the fault tomorrow morning. Thought my laptop was fully charged... NOPE

Okay folks as promised here's the error I have in vcds... Odd that it shows up as the front passenger window when the rear passenger window is the issue...

Alrighty, going through the basic settings I tried running through the adaptations for the rear window.
It failed.

All the other three windows worked fine.

As I said before I'll keep you all updated.

So somehow mine just started working again. I cant think of anything I did differently other than just driving it. Go figure.

I had the same issue with same vcds error,

This worked for me: when relearning the windows, instead of holding the window switch down/up for 3-5 seconds try double clicking the switch after its reached the top and bottom.

I think you need to do it only on the up cycle and not the down. It's been that way since the MK4. Where did anyone read the other way?

If you have VCD or obd11, you'll want to do the basic window regulator test. Basically it just needs to relearn the up/down positions then will work normally.

Already done (see post #20).
As I stated, it failed on the window that I'm having trouble with. Worked fine with the other three windows.

Car is at the dealership now. They'll be checking this out for me shortly.

To follow up on this the dealership was able to go through the basic adaptations of the controller module and fix the problem.

Sounds like power needs to be maintained when changing batteries.

Not necessarily. But putting a small battery in place to keep all the modules powered and error free might be for the best.
