Do you have any pictures of yours? I basically drilled and screwed the aftermarket pedal on top of the metal base, which raised it a little bit... but it's not leveled with the brakes. It's better than the stock one, but there's still a significant difference in height.
I wish VW stuck with the floor-mounted pedal design
