Seat Belt sensor off passenger seat after seat swap

Hey all!

Just swapped my seats for some clark plaids.

I am getting the seat belt light and chimes even when no one is sitting in the passenger seat, and I have nothing resting in the passenger seat.

So far I have tried sitting in it myself, buckling up, and un buckling hoping that would reset it. And I unplugged and plugged the seat back in while the car was off. Still getting the light.

Thanks.

Did you swap seat modules as well during the swap? From what I understand they must also be swapped since the leather has different boxes/coding than plaid

We did not. I just read that too.

But I also read that even after swapping boxes errors were still being thrown and the only fix was going to a dealer to get the codes fixed.

The box is coded to the seats so no further work should be necessary after the boxes have been swapped

What if the boxes can't be swapped? Would a dealer be able to fix it?
