Boss600 alternatives

Im curious if its worth buying a IHX675 vs putting the boss600 back in my car. Does anyone have the IHX675 turbo? I need 30 to 35 or more psi at high altitude and im targeting 600whp uncorrected on a E85, fully built setup. Rev limiter will be 7500 to 8000 rpm.

The boss hp curve never stopped climbing at 30 psi but I had a bit of trouble with the wastegate arm that has been resolved.

I LOVE the quality of my DBV2 V2 but it dies a bit sooner than the boss up top.

I like the ims 710 xona setup but am turned off by the price....which probably doesn’t make sense given the money spent on the build but....

Opinions?

The way I see it you have 2 options, put the Boss back on and run it for all it's worth, or drop $5.4k on the (very badass) IMS710 Xona kit.

Personally I'd full send the Boss kit to whatever it'll make and see what the results are before dropping that Xona cash. The IHX675 is expensive, and I could be wrong but I doubt it will out-perform a Boss 600 by a wide margin if at all. The compressor wheel is almost identical in size, and the turbine wheel is the same size. Garrett's bullshit rating is 650hp and Tomi's bullshit rating is 675hp. The Xona on the other hand is conservatively rated at 710hp. It out-flows the Boss by about 13lbs/min or about 130hp, yet the ratings are only 60hp apart. If Xona rated their turbo in the pie in the sky numbers Garrett and Tomi are using, they'd be rating it at 780-800hp.

I just don't see a justification in going from the Boss 600 to the Tomi. I do however see a justification in going to the IMS710, even with the costs considered.

That is going to require quite a bit at 5200ft. I could be wrong but I'm not sure anything but maybe the 710 would make an uncorrected 600 at 5200ft.

I assume a cylinder head is a part of this build?

2.5 RS3 with a Xona 710 on 91 makes roughly 550-60whp at BW for reference. E85 would do it but that is a 2.5. I would think on a 2.0 it would require ported head and a bunch of boost with the 710 for an uncorrected at 5200ft 600whp.

I should have some Dragy times/Dyno numbers soon for an SRM/RAC Xona 61-55 hybrid, with built motor(built head, not ported), brushless pump, SRM pump controller, 1300cc injectors, RPC manifold, w/ WMI, tuned by UM

Will do. Just curious, is there a gasket or something to seal the cold side compressor housing to the CHRA? I removed the housing during an inspection and notice no sealant, gasket etc....thought it weird because the DBV2 is sealed with some kind of permatex.

I'm doing 540whp SAE corrected, on the Tomioka IHX675. We are limiting torque and there is more in the turbo. I won't find out what it maxes out till next year when I do a built bottom end and upgrade the valvetrain.

But if you want 600 uncorrected at elevation, probably going to need a IMS710.

Does your hp keep climbing to redline?

Graph by chance? I have a smaller L450 which starts falling around 6700rpm on 91.

Just ordered a boss700. I will be selling the 600 and DBV2 V2 so if anyone’s interested, lmk. I will have the shop reweld the Boss700 arm just like they did with the 600 (solid and smooth) just be safe.
