VW apparently has been using discounts to build sales volume. Watch for those discounts to shrink:

I bought a new 2018 GTI SE in June with a $6,000. discount from list

Looks like that kind of deal may be harder to find.

Where did you buy your SE? Best I could find last June near me was $3,000 off with 0.9% financing plus a $600 conveyance fee. Now I'm looking for the 2019 S.

Lindsay VW Sterling VA...there are 3 or 4 VW dealers in the metro Washington DC area and at least 2 of them were offering similar deals.

Currently it looks like Lindsay is not discounting 2019 models. BUT good selection of 2018's at $5500-5700 off list.

Nonsense. The Golf/GTI family isn't selling. Prices may spike very slightly as the '19's arrive, but as soon as nobody is buying them (i.e. immediately), the huge discounts will return.
