2017 GTI Value

I have a 2017 GTI SE with 6 speed manual. I bought in new in March and it has 17000 miles on it and was in excellent condition. Last week somehow the parking garage (I live in NYC and keep it in a public garage) flooded the car. The VW dealer says the car is totaled--$27K damage.

Question--what can I expect for an insurance payout? No lien on the car--paid cash for it.

Sorry to hear about your ordeal. It all depends on your insurance. I would think they will pay you current value of your GTI.

They are supposed to pay you what dealers in your area sell similar cars for. Look up what they're selling for and print them out, just in case. Did you get a rental car?

When my MK6 GTI was totaled I believe the verbiage was “fair market value” which came out to be a little over KBB trade in.
