Really enjoying my Stage 1 low TQ 93. If anyone is second guessing this. Don’t overthink it. It’s amazing.

Updated to Stage 1 Low 91 octane today. It’s amazing.
Feels like it’s double-tuned (HP gains are essentially double the old file) while also feeling the same, if that makes sense.
There’s noticeably more shove at higher speeds. Can’t wait to try her out more this afternoon.

Are people going with the low torque file because they have manuals and want to save their clutch? Or thinking it’s less strain on engine? Or other? Just curious. I have a DSG so if clutch is only issue and I don’t plan on going past stage 1, I’m thinking I’d go with high torque.

DSG go high torque.

Low torque people are using with manuals to hopefully not need to spend tons of money on a clutch upgrade.

I just went with, what APR now says is Stage 3 IS38, 93 oct High torque. It does have the pop and crackle(more like a burble and subdued) not as obnoxious as the original. It's a more linear feeling, sounds great and runs real good. I did my clutch some time ago.

I prefer low torque with my car and it’s a DSG.
It feels closer to a factory engine and has a more progressive, flat power curve. Traction is much, much better. I’ve had high and low on both Mk6 & Mk7 GTIs.
Now it has even more horsepower than the high torque. The previous version was like 265 WHP. Now it’s 290. It was also 20 HP less than the high output tune.
