Fog light connector

I broke my fog light connector, 07P 973 702, taking off my front bumper today. The yellow inside piece is the one that actually broke - I will attach pictures. My questions are, does the whole wire need to be replaced or can I just replace this little connector part? From what I can tell there is something metal from the wiring stuck inside the + and - terminals of the connector so not sure if that would mess me up or not.

And 2, if the whole wiring does have to be replaced, is it difficult?

Sorry if I’m in the wrong thread I couldn’t find a good spot for this

I broke mine as well. I ended up taking it to the dealer and having them replace it since it requires a special crimping tool to fix.

You can buy these as a repair piece with the two wires already in the plug for around $5 from Ebay or a VW dealer, the plug is also used on the cam magnets I believe, as well as other things,

Also available for peanuts on aliexpress,
