Help identify random glove box piece!

Greetings Everyone!

I was changing the cabin filter in my GTI and once I opened the glove box this piece just fell to the floor but I have no idea what it is or where it goes, can anyone please help identify it?

It’s part of the assembly which the arm on the right side of the glove box slides through which is also when turns the light on/off if I’m not mistaken.

You’ll have to double check to see which side faces in and out. Align the arm attached to the glove box to slide into the squarish little thing where this wheel sits in. Iirc, I had to give it a little firm tap in order to get mine to line back up properly.

I can get you pictures of it later or tomorrow morning if you’re still having trouble figuring it out though.

(I panicked when it fell out in my also lol but it’s been working fine ever since I put it back in)

that is the wheel which makes your glove box come down slowly.
