1976 Mercury Bobcat, 4-cylinder extracted and replaced with a 5.0L 88 Mustang V8, Hurst shift kit, WITH PLAYBOY MUDFLAPS! Picked it up pre-modified. Holy crap, crazy car. Oh, and it had a blue shave rug interior, super cool! Lasted 6 months, then exploded. Oh well, you get what you pay for, $750 doesn't get you much. Teenage stupidity.

'88 Didge Shadow Turbo 5mt - first time I've admitted owning one in public. Way too much engine for the rest of the car. Particularly if you modify the boost level :)

MK3 GTI 5mt - I guess it could be considered a performance car?

'91 BMW 318i 5mt. Fun car. Got more looks in this car then any other.

'96 A4 2.8 5mt. Blaw

'01 BMW 528, 5mt w/ performance suspension. Probably my favourite car to date. Still miss it. Best brakes ever!

'06 BMW 330i, 6mt, sport package. Was awesome on the track. Sad it had to go.

'15 GTI 6mt, fun but couldn't live with FWD!

'17 Golf R 6mt. So far so good...

In the beginning there was the
1987 Mercury Grand Marquis station wagon with wood grain I was gifted by my parents that I totally didn't appreciate. Then for some reason my parents bought me another car for my 21st birthday. A:
1992 Toyota Celica GT convertible (this was in 1998). Fun car but didn't handle well and wasn't fast at all. Still, manual, red convertible. Took ok care of this one, always went to the same private mechanic. Had to replace a bunch of parts over the 4 or 5 years I had it. Then I had some money finally and my folks payed half of the price for my:
2002 Nissan Sentra SE-R (manual). Also a slightly used car so we got a great deal. I drove the shit out of that car for pizza delivery and daily for like 8 years and it was a POS by the end. Sold for chump change. Then I bought with all my own money a
1991 Jetta GLI. Someones project car, tastefully modded/upgraded. Most fun most unique car I ever owned. Drove that daily for 4 years until it started falling apart more and more and bought all with my own money a
2016 Mk7 GTI S (slightly used). Current daily/fun car.

I am obsessed. Really. I have bought 66 new cars. And maybe 20 used cars. Over 30 years with military so I had a steady income plus an understanding wife. The money I lost. Wow
The last few were Porsche 2016 911s, 2016 BMW 640i, 2017 Ford Edge Sport, 2017 Jeep Wrangler, Mazda RX8, 3 Mini Coopers and so on. Lots of VWs including 3 Sicrrocos, 3 Type 1s, 1 Type 181, 2 busses and a Passat. I might be done now.
Love cars though.

Mind if I ask why you sold it? Looks great and is a vehicle I have been strongly considering for awhile. Rare though.

I had it for 6 years, which tends to be the point I get the itch to move on.

My big complaint with it was the lack of cupholders lol. I drive my kids to school in the morning, and while trivial, it's nice to have a cup of coffee when leaving at 6:40AM.

Plus, I wanted another 6MT car to move into, and the market of sub $40K 4 doors with RWD and AWD is getting slim. I wasn't confident that the pending redesigns of the R and STi would have a manual option and I didn't want to get shut out of the segment.
