I’ve been down the lease takeover road before and I wish you the best of luck. It can be a pain in the ass.

That being said, expecting the person to provide you with with any money, including lease transfer fees, will make the lease takeover process nearly impossible. Most lease takeovers provide the person taking over the lease with $$. Even with mods. People don’t care about how much you spent on your car unfortunately, even if it makes it better.

I’d suggest taking a look at leasebusters.com to see what other people are doing to get rid of their R leases to keep competitive.

They have a 2018 GTI right now that is offering a lease takeover with a $1000 cash incentive offered by the person who has the lease already.

There is also an R up with $0 incentive, and another with $5000. Either way, no costs incurred by the people who want the lease.

For me to get my old 2008 Rabbit lease taken over, I had to pay out the lease transfer fees, plus $800 to get any interest in it.

Good luck!

Thanks for the insight! I agree.

However, speaking of lease buster, if you look at the Golf R, EVEN with $5000 incentive, it is still higher effective payment than mine ($575 + tax), and still pretty far from my $533 + tax payment... I hope that shows this is competitive enough.

For the GTI, you are paying only $50 more a month and you get an Golf R with 7 speed DSG, AWD, wider tires, bigger rims, and also built-in Germany not Mexico. (And yes, the quality is better than my 2016 GTI PP which I owned for 2 years)

That being said. I am willing to take offers. And I am reducing the price $800 including lease transfer fee. This is a great deal I am hope someone would see that.
