From what I'd read about the 2019 GTI (not just the rabbit), all 2019s include the LSD (even the S trim) and will have 228 hp. DSG models get the new 7 speed DSG over the old 6 speed.

As far as future resale, the Rabbit will only be worth more in a private sale to a buyer who cares about it. I don't see a dealer giving you more in trade for it.

they might.

I traded in my 2014 scion TC special 10 year edition.

It was one of 2,500, had a special color and special rims.

I got 5 grand for it, the car had about 2k worth of damage on it.

Most likely the dealership gave me 5 grand for the car because they wanted my buisness and planned to charge me a high APR. But thats what re financing car loans is for.

You know whats funny though,

My car had a little emblem in the interior that said 1 of 2500

but if you google the car it says 10,000 were made.

shame on you Scion, ferrari does the same thing though.

Go for it. I am. I have a 2019 Rabbit Edition w/Manual on order and am driving a 2018 GTI SE w/DSG (will be selling private sale). A bit of a downgrade in some aspects but my thinking is along the same lines as you in regards to the 20th AE I have always wanted but never had the pleasure of owning. Plus, I f**king hate sunroofs and leather anyways so the Rabbit Edition seems like the perfect GTI for me.

Man you have that correct, I also have NO use for a sunroof.
And my next GTI will have cloth seats, cooler in summer and
warmer in winter and are more grip, less sliding around
when taking a corner.
