Hi,

Anybody had there golf or any other car remapped by this company, thinking of taking my GTD there gains seem reasonable 225bhp and 350ft lb. £350 with before and after rolling road runs and print outs.

Alternatively anybody recommend any other tuners for this engine from personal experience and can give some feedback, like the idea of it being on the rolling road afterwards to see the gains.

I have had a quick look on here and seen the Carbon mentioned so will look into that also.

As I said in the other thread I have just had mine remapped at Ecotune-scotland.co.uk. So far very impressive!!

The car was running at 190bhp 297ftlbs standard and tuned up to 234bhp 353ftlbs. 44bhp 56ftlbs gain. But the biggest difference was the top end where theres roughly a 100bhp and 100 ft lbs of a difference as the power and torque take longer to tail off.

They spent roughly 3 hours with the car and their service was awesome.

No experience of Carbon but Ecotune are more than just a tuning shop, which is their specialism. There was an Audi S1 getting a 500bhp engine build..... Seriously good guys.

I'd like to see the dyno charts for your tune.

I had mine done by Riverside Racing in Liverpool, it's a Revo map, got a rolling road printout showing 240bhp I think and about 380 lb/ft. I did also have a Milltek exhaust system and different intake on though so not sure how much you'd get without.

Look above your response...... Do you have your dyno map?

Here, I think this might actually have been done before I had the intake fitted so it would have had a VWR panel filter instead, not sure what difference the intake has made but it does feel a little bit more responsive with it fitted.

The power is a bit less than I thought but the torque is a bit more, there's a bit of a dip around 2500rpm which you can see on the chart, not sure why they did it like that but it's not really an issue when driving.

The green line is from a previous map I had which was supposed to be giving 220bhp but I had my doubts hence me getting it redone by Riverside.

Yeah Eco tune spent hours on it to balanced out my curve to smooth it and remove the dips so it appears to be very similar.

Have to say Ioving it but I'm now eyeing up a BMW 640d Gran coupe..... Back to 380hp and 780nm for the 5th time. Hmmmmm

So an improvement of 1.35 seconds to 60mph..... Not bad I recon.

Any one heard of Burtech performance in or near Kent?
They are supposed to be very good at remaping Golf GTD 184 ?

Would remapping a manual version of this car increase the risk of early component failure ?

Or can the engine handle it ?
