Finally lost tonight. Was a GREAT run. I've ate alive stock twin *335is and even one that was Jb4.
Long story short, I am running one of the first versions of APR's highly aggressive 93 OCT HT tune (I hold at 26+ PSI, Peak 29-31). Obviously this was flashed a couple years ago and I've just kept it and made adjustments as they neutered base 93 maps quite a bit due to is20s popping like pop corn. (Stage two HT currently is 24-26 Hold to give a comparison).
I am FBO, with a franken/chopped - OE downpipe, but still on stock turbo (is20 on 26+ lbs). I run e30. My car is almost fully gutted. Weighs about 2850 pounds (4 door, manual, no lsd).
His car is a 335i with stock twins eliminated. He switched to big single turbo set up, 62/66 with e50, on a JB/MHD ethanol map/stack. He claimed 450 whp and car weighs about 3500..
Is20 torque is really, unbeatable in the price range from about 40-90 mph. My car goes from 40 to 65 mph in about 4/5 of a second. Each run I brake boosted 2nd, we did a 35 and a 40. At the start I jumped out about 2 cars each time, once we hit 4th (100ish mph) it was all over. His nearly 16mm bigger exducing turbo and 100+ hp pulled pretty steadily once we got into 4th past 100 mph. However I had him every time up to 4th gear. Not bad considering stock turbo and the massive difference in power. Thats p/w I guess...
