Having some Discovery Pro Issues

Recently bought a Golf Mk 7 with a discovery pro. I noticed a few issues.

First of all, the sound is pretty low quality with a lot of noise and the volume is also low, compared to a previous golf I had. When I raise the volume, the quality gets more bad. I tried changing the setting (Bluetooth audio at high) in the infotainment system but to no avail.

Also, the screen in the multifunction display seems to get stuck when navigating. I have no idea why.

I tried doing a hard reset, also to no avail.

Would appreciate some suggestions.

Year of car?

Check with VW to see if there's any software updates available.

2013. There's a software update for the navigation. I did that one.

Is it a common problem?

That's just the maps - only VW can do a software update

What if there are not any updates available. What could be the problem then?

Okay, follow up on the discovery pro brick machine.

I went to the vw dealer and they performed a firmware update. It literally took more than 8 hours.

After the update the sound was completely gone, except for the parking beeps.

VW told me they couldn't do anything for me (typical), even though this bug (malfunctioning end amplifier on the mib) is known for the discovery pro Gen 1

They referred me to a non-vw mechanic who specializes in these problem and that it would cost me 400 euro's. Seriously, wt f...

I performed the repair (replacing a chip on the mib) and now everything works as it should.

Cliffs:

- half broken sound
- went to vw for firmware update
- no sound/vw broke it completely
- vw left me to bite the dust
- had to find specialist
- paid 400 euro's
- everything works
?????

Hi, what did you fix on the amplifier to get the sound back? sounds like i have the same problem.
