Would this be Germany? I thought the Golf R was made in Germany while the mk7 Golf/GIT was made in Mexico...in any case, this looks like pure science fiction. I had no idea robots did so much of the work. It's weird to think that the robotic arms don't even know what they are doing, they are just following a set of instructions on repeat. The quality control looks very tight. There was an article in Motor Trend a couple years ago called Time Bandits, it pitted a GTI/WRX/Civi Si/Cooper S against each other, and they mention the incredible quality of the paint on the GTI...good read. Looks like Wolfsburg plant produces all Golf variants (probably for Europe and Asia?). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wolfsburg_Volkswagen_Plant

If you are in the mid-west, do plan to visit Ford Rouge factory tour where F150s are made. I take all of my friends and family visiting us to that tour and its pretty amazing.
