1.6 TDI fan ramping up after short journey

Hi all

Yesterday I drove my 2014 1.6 TDI for about 2.5 miles/10 minutes from a cold start. When I got out I noticed that the fan was fully ramped up. I stayed with the car for 3-4 minutes and it stayed in this condition. Returned 20 mins later and it had stopped.

I thought it could be due to the dpf regen but I’ve driven the car on 2 200 mile plus motorway journeys in the past week that should have kicked off a regen if it was needed.

Any ideas? Are there any sensors that could be malfunctioning?

Thanks

Probs just a regen but if it continued you would have a problem

a 2200 mile journey on mostly highways would not be beneficial unless you were occasionally shifting down from top gear and going full throttle for a few minutes to really burn shit off. I have a bluetec and any long drive usually has little variation of Rpms. best to floor that thing twice a day on normal days and try to kick it's ass a little bit on long highway drives.
