Nah I’ll stick with my peppy grocery getter. If I get a CTR I would have to start vaping. Not for me.

I thought Subaru owners were more the vaping type. Oh wait, there's another thread for that...

CTR's are cool and I'm glad they exist, but I would not personally own one. It really needs to be a second car, and for $40k there are way cooler "second cars". Honda really missed the boat by not offering the SI in the hatch body style.

Now that I would take over a CTR any day!

The old Integra Type R's are better and definitely better looking IMO. These CTR's look like straight up dog shit!

No kidding! 3150 curb and 127 mph quarter traps bone stock. I think it made it around Nürburg a little faster back in 2006.

Back in 2002 I bought a new RSX-S. Its now modified with a aftercooled CTE SC, burning E85 fuel making 365 whp. I waited years for Honda to bring the Type R to the states. After the long wait they disappointed me by introducing an over priced Hot Wheels car that has good handling capabilities. I said to myself screw it and purchased a MK7 GTI Sport. With just $1,500 worth of improvements (downpipe & tune) my GTI is a fun daily driver that can now keep up with the old RSX-S.

Nice RSX-S Sandbagger. But I do like the CTR and was going to buy one instead of my GTI until I saw a 20k mark-up on them.

It might be my next car just to have something different and easily trackable.

Get it.. CTR is an amazing car and a way better “drive” than a GTI or Golf R. LOL at the people comparing modded cars to stock cars. It’s like when people compare modded GTR’s to Lamborghini’s.

yup, drove a stock one and a ktuned one

Now that is funny! You must be high or was dropped on your head too many times when you were a baby.

lol that's one way to talk to people fanboy. You must only be a gti enthusiast, not a car enthusiast

Anytime a person mentions another platform on a different forum, one should expect some heavy biases. Camaro forum? Mustang a pos. Stang forum? Camaro is a boxy pig. FocusST? Gti are slow any everyone who drives one is into stance bro. Then there is what I call general car enthusiast. These are usually grown ass men, owned various vehicles, have life experience, fairly logical motherfuckers who dont put their entire ego or manhood on one platform. They are gearheads, they like to share information and overall be decent folks.

Ok type R civic. Is it growing on me a little because ive read up on it and got couple driving around my area? Sure. Would I have wanted one in my 20s? Heck yes. I waited... waited. Im 38, so in my youth we just got the gsr, type r teg for some jdm porn. 180-200hp reving to 8k was “fast” back then. Also wanted Ford to bring the RS over too. But when they finally did it was kinda too little too late. Also missing was that sexy Volvo 5 cylinder motor i wanted. So now we have the Type R. Fast, nimble, aggressive. I dig it. 35-40? Meh ill pass at this point in my life. But I can still appreciate it and hey if you want to own it, godspeed brother, get some. Have fun drive what makes you HAPPY and forget the rest.
Old school brought up good point, for 35-40ish k u got a nice used C6 Z car? Heck jizz n my pants and call it good 505hp big block in fairly light car, money well spent. Maybe a well taken care of C63 amg with NA v8, or a v10 m5 for 30k thats been looked over GOOD by a bmw tech. And we can probably talk for a entire day with other cars u could buy vs a type R if you had money to burn. For my daily driver/occasional hooning activities the Gti suits ME better, and I would imagine a Golf R would too. Think VW makes some well balance cars. But yeah type R is cool, little late to the party, but it is what it is. My 2 cents
