Volkswagen up! GTI concept

The Volkswagen up! GTI concept isnít nearly as quick or as powerful as the GTI we all know and love today. In our tests, the current-generation VW Golf GTI hit 0-60 mph in as little as 5.7 seconds when equipped with a six-speed manual transmission, but VW estimates the up! version will take 8.8 seconds to reach 62 mph. And instead of producing between 210 and 220 hp, the Volkswagen up! GTI makes just 113 hp from its small turbo engine.

It isn't even as quick as the legendary 125 PS/1000 kg Lupo GTI 17 years ago.
They should have called this one 'Up GT' but not Up GTI. For obvious reasons it
should have more power than its predecessor, not less. Neat little car, but not
worth this name. Had an Up as a loaner some years ago. Suspension + steering
are lightyears behind the least Golf.
I could be wrong but currently I cannot imagine they will get this car right with
just the common modifications (springs, dampers, swaybars, steering software)
a manufacturer usually performs for just another version.

Btw. Video:

Cute little toy. It is a child's car, right?
(Mostly) Posted by Josh/AWE. Flapper valves are open at idle, close after 1100 RPM during part throttle. Full throttle 1st-4th gear the valves open until throttle let off. 4th gear, 1500 RPM to full throttle closed, closed until 3500 RPM, then open until lift off throttle.
