MIB II Discover Media to Discover Pro upgrade / Video Playback

So I'm fairly new to this forum when it comes to posting so please bear with me. I've have however been using it now for a number of months and love it! I also know how helpful this community can be.

With regards to the below questions I currently have very little technical knowledge when it comes to coding/programming etc and do not have a VCDS cable at this point.

1) Can the MIB II Discover Media be upgraded to the Discover Pro through means of VCDS, simple software update or otherwise?
2) Is there a way to play vide through the MIB II Discover Media system, from DVD, iPhone, SD or other?

Discover Pro is physically a different unit, with different hardware, so in answer to your questions.

1) No
2) No

As Steve said the hardware is physically different (main-board, processor, ram, screen and the DVD vs CD units).

So no, it's not possible to change the guts of a discover media unit to that of a pro, but I think it is possible (if you have the money), to swap the Discover media (gen I or II) to the Gen II Discover Pro.
