Which intake to choose? That is the question....

Stupid question: can I take the top of the box off of my stock intake and hear the turbo? I've unhooked the hose before just for the fun of it and the pshhhhh was loud but I know I shouldn't leave it like that. Or could I even make my own intake out of the stock one or Plastic pipe if I got the right size?

Letting unfiltered air into a set of turbine wheels spinning upwards of 30,000 rpm is a recipe for disaster.

So no, please do not do that for the sake of your turbo's longevity.

I agree. I love hearing the turbo spool up and the diverter valve sound.
