Looking to get some VWR springs for my GTI but have ZERO expertise in installation. Dealer wants $400 in labor to do it. is this (relatively) reasonable?

Does anyone know a good VW mechanic in Dallas? may do other things as well....

I'm sure you can find an independent VW mechanic that won't break the bank, especially in a city like Dallas.

Looking to get springs changed. Oddly enough, the VW dealerships have given me the cheapest quotes @$350 (plus springs).

Anyone recommend any good shops to install the VWR springs? Have gotten two quote that are $600+ for just labor, not including the alignment. Just seems a bit high.

Springs + Alignment isn't cheap. I'd figure you're looking at spending roughly 400 on the low end.

Sounds about right. Local VAG shop quoted me 3 hours at $90/hr.
Also said if RSB, would do for only an extra hour of labor

For alignment, I have always done Firestone lifetime alignment which tends to run around $160. Sometimes on special for $140.
Then when you change something or hit a curb, just take it back for an alignment gratis.
