ZuMBLe- hopefully your right. I suspect this might be an R thing as far as fitment goes.

I will let you all know

Got it installed!

Got my BMS Intercooler installed and everything went smooth. Took about 6 hours taking my time. I had printed out the BMS guide but I ended up just using the DAP video as my reference. Supported the assembly with jackstands and a bucket. Managed to get the clips out without breaking anything. Took some time on this step . Got it all back together and backed it off the ramps. Test drive tomorrow. Too rainy and shity out now.

It is a very nice peice and dwarfs the stock intercooler. All the tabs lined up nicely for my 17 Sport. The drivers side snugged up nicely but the passenger side square peg on the radiator would not go all the way in. I filed the plastic down on the radiator square tab so it would slide all the way in. Minor inconvenience.

Although I have not driven the car yet, I can definately recommend this intercooler as far as fitment goes (2017 Sport), and the current price can’t be beat. It seems the fitment issues might be isolated to the Rs with a different radiator. This is purely speculation based on the posts in this thread.

Any pics of the radiator peg you filed down? What did you use to file it down?

I just used a basic metal file. Probably took off 1mm material to make it fit. I have some pics of it fitted but not the peg.

1st pic is drivers side and 2nd is passenger side.

I just finished installing one on a 2017 Autobahn and had to file 3-4 millimeters off the passenger side and about 1 mm on the driver side. I noticed that on the passenger side, the radiator was firmly set in the lower intercooler slot. On the driver side, mine has maybe 1/16th of an inch of play when the radiator if pushed/pulled toward the front/rear of the car. Has anyone else noticed this when installing an intercooler, regardless of brand?

I set it on a set of bathroom scales and got a reading of 24.5 lbs. Core diameter is 2”x16”x24”.

I installed my IE intercooler yesterday and had a bit of play where the radiator clips in on both sides. I almost left it, but was too worried about things moving around so I ended up cutting a short piece of fuel hose I had laying around in half and sliding it down the joint that protrudes between the radiator core and end tank. That seemed to fill it in perfectly so things were snug.

Spending the extra dough for the IE (even used) I wasn't expecting to have to deal with anything that required creativity to make "right." If I could do it over again I'd pick up the BMS for sure, especially with the first run closeout price.

My car has a catback system, intake, JB4 map 2, and BMS Intercooler.

I took a sample with the stock intercooler the day before I put the BMS intercooler in.

Data with stock intercooler
Ambient temp: 59 F
Onset: 69 F
Min: 69 F
5k: 69F
5.5k: 73 F
6k: 78 F
6.3k: 82 F

Data after BMS intercooler
Ambient: 53 F
Onset: 60 F
Min: 60 F
5k: 60 F
5.5k: 60 F
6k: 62 F
6.4k: 64 F

Hopefully it works this well in the summer.

I just came across this thread from a Facebook link. Saw the price, found it for free shipping on urotuning.com and pulled the trigger. For the cost involved, even if I have to work at it a bit it was enough to forego my plan of getting the IE intercooler this Summer. I'll probably notice the extra money in my pocket more than the performance difference there might have been.
