Needed some elbow grease but after a year, much needed cleaning.

Maybe an appropriate post for "what did you do to your car today" thread.

Looks good. I use Barkeeper's Friend, does the job super easily. I just wish there was some type of protectant to keep them shiny longer...

I think exhaust tips are the way to go if you're not going to exhaust swap.

The stock tips just look so small and chromey...

lol I just bought some 20 dollar tips for my Golf from Amazon. It is ridiculous the difference they make to rear and side profile appearance. I have a bad feeling for the price they will probably be rusty by next month though.

Yup an extra inch makes the rear end look so aggressive. Hope they work out!

If you find yourself in the market again can't go wrong with a 2nd hand set of BMS. I purchased new with no regrets.

I had $33 angled cut rolled double wall exhaust tips welded on with my muffler delete. They started yellowing/rusting within a month or so but I will see if some bar keepers and chrome polish might help. Will keep you posted.

Bar Keepers Friend (powder) and Chemical Guys Heavy Metal Polish works wonders. Took very little effort on my part and my exhaust tips were coated after a year and a half of driving.

OP, the tips look great. As now has been about 6 weeks from the original post date, how are they looking?

cleaning them often helps but the chrome is actually cracking compared to my mk6 which lasted eight years and was in better condition than this 2018 mk7 is after six months....
