Been running the tap for a few weeks now. All seems good. Took all of 10 mins to install.

Perfect for a boost gauge or an aftermarket BOV

Hi guys,

I installed this and now getting extremely high IAT readings through my JB4 even with meth spraying IATís donít drop. Is this transferring heat into the sensor?

I donít think itís the tap thatís doing that. In my experience...the tap does heat soak...but only at idle for a few minutes. Once you get moving...the air coming in directly in front of it will cool it back down. When I pop my hood after getting home...the tap will be warm to the touch...no warmer than the sensor itís attached to.

Thanks for the reply - read that these style taps can cause this issue. Will pop it off when I get home and do some logging to be sure!

Just to update on this, I removed the Boomba tap and issue with my IAT is completely resolved.

Yesterday I logged in 34c ambient temp, IAT was at 62c and increased to 68c on a pull with meth spraying. I logged again tonight with the spacer off in 36c ambient temps with meth spraying my IAT was 41c.

Unfortunately this tap is no good. The design and quality is absolutely perfect but the heat transfer and implications to the ECU readings pose major issues.

Sorry, really not trying to dump on this thread.

That's a bummer.

So far I haven't noticed anything different in the way my car runs.

It is a shame as itís a great quality bit of kit but not comfortable with the car getting such high readings thinking IATís are through the roof when in reality they are much much colder. A small variance I could live with but itís over 20c difference!

Would this work for a P3 gauge with the analog boost sensor?

We don't see any reason why it wouldn't!
