Wow, sounds like something went askew if that's really the case. All other things being equal, I couldn't imagine the PP not being reasonably quicker around a track versus a non-PP. Of course, I've been wrong before!

I thought it was more than that. The Lightning lap 2014-2015 had a regular in 14 and a PP in 15. The 2015 GTI PP was a 2dr and 6spd, but managed to beat the time by 4.7 secs. Most if it may be DSG to MT gearing, that favored the MT on this track. But it's still a good difference either way.
