Now that I’m actually using my TomTom and the Mk7 I’ve gone for the simple connection of satnav mounted on right-hand middle ventilation grill and the TT supplied USB power cable drops to below, along the central transmission tunnel (under the carpet) then up into a USB power adaptor and with the centre armrest pulled out you can’t even see the cable barr about 4” on the drop to the floor and even then I have to swan around to see it behind the steering wheel.
