Anyone driving Laguna Seca? Some questions.

My wife and I are planning our every 2-3 year cross country driving trip. As part of a terrific birthday gift I want to add a track day at Laguna Seca. (we'll be going NEXT track season)

Couple of questions:

1) When does the HPDE track season at Laguna run?

2) Any recommendations for clubs to run with. I've run with many on the East Coast: NASA, SCDA, marque clubs, etc., but they differ by region. Only "requirement" would be point by passing. I normally run in the advanced or advanced intermediate run group depending on the cars in the group and passing regs. I would run intermediate here because of the first time on track. Actually, I'd be willing to run in any run group to get on this track. ;>)

3) The great tracks out here often sell out. How early do you need to register?

4) Any other Laguna specific info would be appreciated.

Thanks much.

Note: I will post this on both Vortex and GolfMK7 sites

I just ran it 2 weeks ago. Fun track. 5 things to point out.

1. If you’ve got a DSG and leave it in auto mode, turn 11 can confuse it.
2. The car is SUPER predictable. I’ve raced the same track, on a motorcycle, so that’s my baseline. I will say I was chasing down cars that are MUCH faster and it was easy.
3. The corkscrew May cause contact between your tire and the fender
4. Make sure you remember to defeat the nannies every time you start the car.
5. It’s pretty funny to see your car trying to give you eco-tips, while lapping a race track
