Hi all,

I just want to get some opinion.

My friend is selling me his 2016 golf r manual DCC with Navi with 40ish miles for 26Kish (no mods, regularly maintained, and drive non-aggressively).

Do you think the price is reasonable with the high mileage?

I have two main concerns:

(1) How reliable is the car in the long run if I want to keep the car for a long time? [I googled around, some say yah or nah, but it should go beyond at least 100K with regular maintenance]

(2) If I end up selling it in a few years, would I take a big hit on the resell values? [I saw some book value on the previous gen 2012-2013, it looks like they are roughly selling for 16-20k currently ... kinda suck if I lose 7-9k in the next few years or so]

What do you all think? Any comment and suggestion would be appreciated !!!

I don't plan on modding the car, and I would maintain it by the book.

Thanks so much!!

You might be seeing a lower number for a 2012 - 2013 R as its from the previous platform. Typically, Golf R holds their value better than other VW and german vehicles.
