MK7.5 Vertical line of dead pixels on infotainment screen

I noticed a line of what seems to be dead pixels on my infotainment screen today. Pictures below. Anyone know if this is covered under warranty? You don't really notice it unless you're using android auto and have google maps or music open. It's just very annoying considering my car is barely a month old.

That would annoy the hell out of me, especially if the car is only a month old. Take it in and get it warrantied.

I have the exact same thing, but two lines. Car is just over a month and a half old.

I asked on the Facebook group if others had the same issue. They have and had it replaced under warranty.

Absolutely a warranty item. If it only does it on navigation it's probably a software issue.

Does the entire screen eventually die?

Well I’d be very curious if it happens with Waze via CarPlay. Do you have access to an iPhone you can try?

I looked at both pictures and don't see the problem, where exactly is it?

Both Waze and Google Maps do wonky display stuff under CarPlay on my '16 R. It appears to be the way that they draw the screen, not a hardware defect - at least in my case. No issues with anything else. Perhaps same thing is happening here?

Edited the OP's first pic. I increased the contrast to make it more visible.

Used to repair computers and electronics. Vertical lines are always a faulty LCD panel or LCD panel connection to the board.

Horizontal lines are typically processor/memory related.

Have them replace your display.

IDK but doubtful. it is just my mistrust of folks and having them deny wtty under the normal wear and tear/appearance/doesn't really matter or similar clause.

A similar line appeared on my 2018 GTI SE (barely two months old!) the other day.

dequardo, the line is there all the time, including when I use Waze through CarPlay.

I would think it’s a straight warranty replacement then. Good luck.
