Most annoying thing about your GTI

I really dislike that the passenger side wiper blade stops directly in front of the driver leaving a distinct water line precisely in my field of vision. The driver side blade then fails to wipe it clean. Not only annoying but dangerous.

Try running smaller diameter wheels/tires. I'm running a 23.9" setup right now (stock is 25.1") and the lower gearing is awesome (RPMs are about 10% higher)

Countless rattles... like the one that happens if you close a door with the window rolled down. Good god.

Mine had this and was fixed under warranty. Turned out the window track was missing a bolt or two from the factory. Its been quiet ever since the repair. You may want to have them look at it. Thats definitely not normal. As for all the other rattles.....oye.

On all prior VWs I have ever worked on or owned, that meant the window was out of the track or about to fall out. Not on a Mk7 though!!! Lol. My driver side door even rose a passenger to go "What was that clunk?"

Sounds a bit cheap honestly.

Glad other people have noticed this rattle. It really does sound like something is breaking if you close the door when a window is down. Surely that's a design flaw somewhere.

I just checked on all 4 of my doors with window partially and fully down- no sound that is any different from window up. Rather than a design flaw, I think you have an assembly flaw. Maybe you should bring it in for a look-over.

I have the same rattle as does my friend who also has a mk7.

That's interesting... maybe it's a build date thing. And I guess your cars are built over in Mexico too. Both the front driver and passenger ones do it and it seems I'm not alone so I wonder what the differences are. To be honest, you can't really hear the rattle when driving as generally the wind noise (as the window is down) is too loud anyway. Still a bit annoying.

Seconded for rattles and squeaks. They seem to come and go.

-Sqeaks developing after a few months of ownership. Probably door seal or window seal related.
-Spotify on Android Auto is buggy as hell
-Bluetooth annoyances - My phone asking me to pair w/ bluetooth, set up smartlock, and share messages for the billionth time.
-Car keeps telling me about some car traveling the wrong direction down some freeway that's no where near my location. Happens so often, i think it must be a bug. Don't know how to turn the msgs off.
-Rear of the car gets dirty fast; but i guess this is normal for hatchbacks.

Fortunately, the list of positives far outweigh the negatives (so far).
