since joining the forum I’ve found it interesting seeing all the different mods or versatility of the golf platform and I want to get more involved or learn more about the maintenance of my Golf. I know how to change the oil but want to start doing more especially since my warranty is up in like a week and I’ll likely keep it past the lease. So pretty much where’s a good place to start maybe good channels to watch on YouTube or something. Appreciate the advice, ciao

Fro modding your car, how about starting with checking out what others did and why they did it?
Check out Member Car Journals section.
Sandman GTI, who commented above, has clean build,

Other member named, Quebster has one crazy build going,

https://www.golfmk7.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6100

other notable builds are done by member named eventhorizon and navindrair

Some has how do's and what kind trouble they faced and solved.
They are all long tread but on first page they have list of what they did, part used.
So, it will take long time to go through.
But you will gain a lot on what can be done and find the area you want to work on and make yours.

Happy modding.

Oh, and I follow below on youtube.

Humblemechanic and Deutsche Auto Parts (a.k.a shopdap.com).

Both revolve around VW and Audi topics.

For general topics,

Chrisfix is good place to start.

I stop following Scotty Killmer nowadays.
And do a search on YouTube on any specific jobs you want to do.
There are many videos.
For example if you search, oil change on VW MK7, you will get many videos.
Also, when you are looking for performance parts, many have a link to how to install them.
So, depending on how confident you are with your skill, you can try to install it.
