Broke the Welded Subframe Nut?

Hello all, first time posting here,

I am writing this post simply because I have snapped one of the nuts that are welded in place within the subframe. During installation of the Tyrolsport deadset kit, I managed to align everything into place until the last bolt that is a part of the bracket caused issues. Due to the subframe being a closed design, is it better to tackle the issue of getting to the broken nut inside from the top of the subframe or from the side with a hole cutter? If I leave a hole open in the subframe when cutting into it, would it be really detrimental to the car? Thank you for your time. This is a 2017 Golf MK7 R for reference.
