things like nissan altimas, honda civics...etc are the ones that will give you that lease payment with low - $0 down. VW, however doesn't work that.

I see prices are going lower but real hard to find a pp with light pkg in black. Black or white now that's a tough one

Have you talked to any of the dealers about honoring their price for an ordered car, or at least being able to apply similar discounts?

You're right that they are less willing to negotiate a sale on an ordered car, but it's worth giving a call to different dealers and seeing if they are willing to do it. Not a lot of activity on the VW lots right now, so if you were to get a good deal on an ordered car, then now is probably the time. Either that, or be patient and wait to see what pops up in inventory. I only found one LP + PP car in stock within 500 miles when I was searching, and it was a SE, out of my price range, albeit a great deal at ~$5k off MSRP.
