nah, it's not. and even if it was out, it's for the R only, not GTI.

You're right, it's only the R. Either way JB4 ride or die lol

So is there a BT solution or is the data cable still the best way to do everything?

Bluetooth is the way to go. You have to purchase the kit and the JB4 mobile app but data logging is so much easier using an ipad or phone. Plus you get to monitor 6 display's on your tablet or phone.

The JB4 has access to CAN data and AFR readings. This means it has significantly more control over the ECU parameters and therefore more options, and more importantly more power increases. It also adds options like boost by gear, and more logging etc.

I'm running the JB4 app on an android using a $5 cable from Amazon. Bluetooth is nice, but not the way to go for $140 plus wire tapping it in

He's connecting his JB4 data cable to an OTG adapter to plug into his microUSB port.

I almost went this route, but I figured I'd lose the ability to charge the phone. The BT dongle is outrageously priced, but I went ahead and got it anyway.

I also feel it is, but considering the JB4 isn't getting in-dash gauges like the BMW platform anytime soon, it was a worthy investment. It also holds its resale value well from what I see.

Sometimes it's very annoying logging changes, open the log, look at it, make changes, whereas you could make changes a lot faster by eyeballing the needed parameters instead of dealing with the steps.

I'll probably pick up the BT Kit and use my old phone which supports MirrorLink so I have the gauges on my radio

You lucky ducks with your 2016+ MIB2 infotainment units. Back in my day we had Bluetooth only and we liked it.
