Front Wheel Bearing Replacement

I need to replace my front driver side wheel hub/bearing. Has anyone done this previously? I've found some tutorials for previous marks, but none specific to the Mk7 R.

My direct question is what size tools are needed for the axle bolt, and the (4) hub bolts?

Haven't replaced one personally but if you order a bearing it comes with all new hardware so you could go to your local Sears or Lowes and figure out what size everything is. I just had mine replaced under warranty.

There are workshop manuals floating about on here. Shouldn’t be too hard to find.

you could also buy a used spindle with a bearing intact for around $150 or much less and save the cost effort of bearing labor.

sell the old stuff as is to recoup some of the cost.

on the axle bolt...

24mm spline. you can use an impact to remove but best not to until after you break it. no-no putting it back on.
