Lifted dodge pulled out in front of me and went right underneath the back bumper

Too bad the owner of the truck didn't have to pay for some of the damage out of his own pocket.

100% there was more damage due to it being lifted.

I'm so sick of everyone ignoring these lifted trucks/Jeeps and the dangers they pose.

My exact thoughts. I believe semi trucks by law are now required to have a rear crash bar for cars so they're not running underneath them.

I used to work for a law firm in Chicago in college during the summer. One of if not the most successful personal injury firms around. Every now and then I would have to gather up boards they prepared to show at trial. Photos of accidents. You would not believe the stuff juries have to look at. One case I recall distinctly was from a car to truck crash and if I recall correctly it led to those crash bars.

Sadly, due to downtown Seattle traffic, my pride and joy became a total loss.

I’m so sorry man. It looks like the safety features protected you in a big way so thank God for that. Beautiful car.

Thank you, I appreciate the compliment.

Yes, I did have a stiff and sore back for a few days, and my ears were ringing for a while due to the airbags. But all in all, the car did protect me well. It was for this reason that I went back to thinking about what I would want for a replacement car since repairs were looking unlikely...

I did really enjoy the cabin and visibility, space, and comfort of the Golf Mk 7 design I got to know with the Golf R, and the insurance value of the car was enough to consider getting the GTI (paid for with 6 years warranty) vs. the cost of a second hand Golf R for $30K. I went with the new car, vs a few years old. I have been driving the manual shift GTI Rabbit for a couple weeks now, and it is fun. I'm very pleased with the GTI, I will miss the Golf R, but I am happy with its replacement.
