After Market parts: All these items were professionally installed for improved safety, convenience, and appearance. These do not affect the warranty (3 yrs/36K on entire vehicle, 5 yrs / 60K) on drive train).
Replaced OEM tires with Michelin Premier AS tires – Michelin’s best “rain” tire these are also good on ice – perfect for Pacific NW! ~ 70% of tread remaining. On OEM 16" Alloys.
OEM auto-dimming mirror with HomeLink (garage door opener function built into mirror)
OEM Euro / Golf R headlights: Much better night vision than US OEM lights. Look classy too!
OEM Euro / Golf R LED tail lights w amber turn signal – much high visibility for safety Look classy too!
Metallic Window Tint: Keeps interior cooler in summer without very minor reduction of outward visibility while significantly reducing inward visibility into back half of car for security.
Push button (key fob) hatch opening: a very nice convenience factor!
LED hatch illumination: Vastly improved visibility in cargo area & outside of cargo area.
OEM GTI 21.7 mm rear sway bar – improves handling without affecting ride quality.
No engine changes or modifications
o Above items cost over $1,800 with installation.
Basically a “GTI Lite” – performance very close to GTI without stiffer ride, higher insurance, and higher fuel cost (better mileage, no need for premium gas).
Has only had Top Tier gas (mostly Shell, some Chevron & Union 76). EPA 25 city, 35 highway. I get 25-28 in city & 35-38 on highway.
