Golf MK7 H7 Led drop-in headlight bulbs

Has anyone had experience with the Led H7 bulbs that are designed to fit directly into the Golf MK7 halogen headlight housing with no modifications?

They look like this:

Apparently they are designed to drop in with no modifications required which appeals to me as I'd like to have the option to revert back to stock if required.

I'm a little skeptical about the amount of heat they would put out when the light cover is replaced, has anyone seen/tried these for themselves?

TIA

They say that but you need to make sure you can get the rear cover on the lights when they are installed. I have LED cornering lights on my GTI and they would not fit in the Wifes E81 BMW as the fan casing was too bulky and those look even bigger. I had to chop the heatsink cover about to get the rear cap on. The fan still works and cooling will never be an issue as they are not on for long enough. Beam pattern may be an issue as well and you may find you are dazzling other drivers as if like mine they are much brighter than the Halogen.

Another thing to consider is if they are Canbus friendly as you will need resistors if not to eliminate errors.

I have been looking at these if mine fail as they look very compact but will need resistors for the bulb out error.

Not going to give you good light output with that design - stick with a quality H7 replacement bulb like Philips X-Treme or Osram Nightbreakers

I'm running Lasfit H7 & H15's in my ride. They work really well actually. I can't give them a long term review as I've only had them installed for about 3 weeks. I will say the H15 to require a quick adjustment to make them fit. They come with a rubber gasket that makes them too tight to fit, so you just replace that with a rubber o-ring and you're good to go. The H7s fit with the rubber gasket but are fairly tight, both bulbs fit with the rubber dust covers on.

There are a lot of those on the market now - they all vary slightly and can have install issues or be a COB (chip on board) which is a cheaper diode setup that are not that bright or too blue. We have many different models linked to us daily.

We have a similar style here with bright diode setup / fits nicely without modification:
http://deautokey.com/product/new-le...olf-gof-sportwagen-alltrack-jsw-tiguan-passat

AND For the h15 (brighter than many on the market):
http://deautokey.com/product/h15-da...00-plug-play-fits-many-volkswagen-audi-models

And we'd like to offer 15% off as we know many were looking and asking about this - with discount it is competitive vs pricing we saw online while in many cases being brighter (that extra light makes a big difference):

Use code "DROP15" for 15% off

:)

And we do see some companies claiming the LEDs are brighter or as bright as HIDs - this is not true - the LED technology is not there yet - HIDs are still brighter if you want the best output for the winter:

Thanks

I did enquire about your HID kit but the shipping was going to be $80 to the UK :(

I know it is insane and I actually asked them about shipping and USPS charges a lot due to it going into the next box size.

If you go to rate calculator - choose UK and click flat rate boxes:
https://postcalc.usps.com/

It is actually $90.50 for the large flat rate box. But I think they try to cover some cost.

Just out of interest what is the size/weight of the package?

I have shipped laptops and networking kit from the UK to Houston before and it wasn't as expensive as $80, more like $40!

Did you use USPS? It is a USPS flat rate large box which is $90 to UK.

I know it is a fairly heavy/big box - I don't have that on hand and only know what box it is packed in and rate for that box. If you email them and you find something that cost $40 they'll do it. They make $0 profit on shipping and lose money normally on all shipping cost as they always try to cover some to keep cost low. Please let them know what you think they can do and they'll work with you.

Thank you

I use a service called Interparcel.com you enter your package dimensions and weight and it gives you prices from multiple shipping companies.

Most recently I sent a laptop that was 2.7kg - 8cm x 47cm x 30cm and it booked that via UPS at a cost of £27.55 (about $36.21)

Email them with this info and they'll do it. As I said they are not making money from shipping and if you find a better and cheaper way that is great.

It says "clean white" on your listing, but can you tell me what the exact color temperature is in kelvin?

Anyone out there running these?

Pretty much any CREE LED for headlight use is guaranteed to be 5600-6000K color temp.
