GTD ticking noise

Had my mk7.5 GTD for a few months now and it drives superb.

Only thing bugging me is a ticking noise from the driver's side of the engine. It's not audible on tickover, but starts as soon as you press the throttle and seems to speed up with the revs.

At first I thought noisy injectors but it still happens on the overrun when I'm coasting in gear - which I wouldn't expect.
So i think it's solely related to engine speed.

Noise is the same when the engine is hot or cold.

Car has only done 4500miles, so could it be a dodgy tensioner or pulley? Or does this engine just sound like that anyway?!

I have exactly the same sound on my 2018 GTD so its not just you! But no idea as to the cause .. I thought turbo?

I think I’ve had this also, could be a characteristic of the engine I guess. I only hear it when my windows down and I’m coming down the drive.
