Hi all, I own a 14' Golf 7 R hatchback with now around 52.000km. I'm thinking of putting an stage 1 tune that gets me around 350HP and 460nm. I know that 2014 and 2015 Golf R's had turbo problems. Should I do it or would you not recommend it on my 2014 Golf?

You should be totallly fine. Is your car DSG or manual? And what tune in concrete?

I was asking if it was a manual transmission because then you would need a new clutch but if you have a DSG transmission your clutch will be fine even with a tune.
There are a lot of companies to tune your car some of them are more agresive than others but either way your turbo will be fine and if the turbo goes is going to go with or without a tune.

But answering to your question, yes, it will be fine. Your car stage 1 will blow you away.

The tune will give your car new life and make you love it all over again.

If your turbo was going to blow it would've done so already. Go stage 1 and don't look back. If you want a tune that is easier on the turbo and feels smooth through the rev range, go with Unitronic.

Go with the APR Stage 1 "high torque" file and the TCU tune.

No regrets! Just big smiles when you punch it!
