No special discounts, just about 20 VW dealers in 3 states plus DC within an hours drive and Lindsay claims to be the largest volume dealer in the US.
Picked up my 2018 Alltrack SE (6MT) Sunday from Linsday. Everything was pretty straightforward, except that it took a long time (they were backed up and had some technical issues, so spent quite a bit of time waiting after signing stuff to finish the deal with the finance person).
Got $6,575 off list, tempered somewhat by the $699 dealer fee.
I negotiated everything via email and they stuck to what we agreed.
Only issue is that I had asked them for total cost (including PA tags) and they gave me a number (which I think was about $50 low based on my own calculations) for that...but then when I was in the finance office the tag fee had somehow jumped by about $200.
I told them that I expected them to honor the bottom line, so after the finance person leaving to talk to a manager, she came back and lowered the price so it worked out to the penny what I had agreed to. (I didn't specifically say I would walk if they didn't honor it, but I would have, and I think they knew that.)
Maybe I could have gotten a better deal (I know I could have if I wanted DSG) but I am satisfied. The inventory of 6MT SE's in the US is fairly small (based on cars.com) so I decided to just pull the trigger. I used a rental car to get there (coming back from a weekend trip) so just dropped off the rental car at Dulles Airport after--it is fairly close.
