Yeah.. I think that might be the only upside.. Maybe he cant afford the taxes/insurance on a GTi, but wants the look.

Got to respect the work put into it..
I would be hard pressed to see it was a redone 1.6 tdi. Even the brakes and interior look good!

Just a theory, but I suspect he has had access to a written-off GTi at negligible cost, otherwise there's no way he could have done this and offer it at the current price, there is also the factor that it's been a Cat. D.
